PRESS RELEASE – Youth Grants 2016/17

The Bay of Colwyn Town Council has set aside £14,000 of funding this year to support projects for young people in the Bay of Colwyn area (Rhos on Sea, Colwyn Bay, Upper Colwyn Bay and Old Colwyn).  Applications are now being invited from local groups/organisations seeking funding support (capital revenue) for projects, activities or events that will benefit young people up to 25 years of age.

The closing date for applications is noon on Monday 6th February 2017.

Projects supported in 2016 included:  army cadets and scouts trips, youth football, drama, film and arts projects, sports equipment, youth club activities and a Queen’s 90th Birthday party.

PRESS RELEASE – Ward Allowances 16/17

The Bay of Colwyn Town Council has recently approved payment of the Town Councillors ward allowances for 2016/17. Each council member (there are 24 in total) is able to donate up to £300 per annum to benefit their local Ward.

If you know of a community group/project based in the Bay of Colwyn area that requires funding support, please visit the Town Council section of our website ( to find out more about the small grants available from the Town Council or to contact your local Ward Member.

(Due to the local elections, which are due to be held in May 2017, no further Ward Allowance projects will be approved now until July).
