{"id":17584,"date":"2025-01-28T09:43:44","date_gmt":"2025-01-28T09:43:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colwyn-tc.gov.uk\/?p=17584"},"modified":"2025-01-28T09:46:31","modified_gmt":"2025-01-28T09:46:31","slug":"17584","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colwyn-tc.gov.uk\/cy\/17584\/","title":{"rendered":"Town Council Budget\/Precept Statement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Town Council approved its budget for the 2025\/26 financial year at its meeting on 20<sup>th<\/sup> January.\u00a0 Despite requests for increased financial support towards the running costs of several Conwy County Borough Council services\/assets, including CCTV provision, Rhos Paddling Pool and full cost of retaining the four Public Conveniences along our popular waterfront, which had been under threat of closure, the increase in the annual precept has been kept at just 3%, or \u00a31.33 per annum for a typical Band D property.\u00a0 The total precept to be raised by the Town Council for 2025\/26 is \u00a3554,650, or \u00a345.67 per annum for an average household. \u00a0\u00a0To find out more about what the Town Council does with your money, please have a look our Annual Report, which is published on our website: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colwyn-tc.gov.uk\/town-council\/publications\/\">https:\/\/www.colwyn-tc.gov.uk\/town-council\/publications\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the approval of the budget for the new financial year, Cllr Ricki Owen Town Mayor 2024\/25 added: \u201c<em>It\u2019s disappointing that the Town Council Precept is increasing by 3% but I am pleased that through careful financial management we have been able to find the additional funding required by the county council to keep the paddling pool and toilets open as well as maintaining our children\u2019s playgrounds and Colwyn Theatre.
