Recipients of large grants (of over \u00a3500) for the 2015\/16 financial year were presented with cheques by the Town Mayor, Cllr Mrs Val Smith, at a special Awards Evening last Monday.\u00a0 Grants totalling \u00a330,849 have been awarded by the Town Council this year, to the following organisations:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul\">\n<li><strong>Beulah Brass<\/strong> \u2013 to enhance local performances<\/li>\n<li><strong>Carers\u2019 Outreach Service<\/strong> \u2013 emotional support and information for carers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Carers\u2019 Trust North Wales<\/strong> \u2013 breaks for carers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Citizens Advice Bureau<\/strong> \u2013 open door services and dedicated office<\/li>\n<li><strong>C\u00f4r Meibion Colwyn<\/strong> \u2013 local concerts<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cruse Bereavement Care<\/strong> \u2013 Colwyn Bay office<\/li>\n<li><strong>Home Start Conwy<\/strong> \u2013 support for local families<\/li>\n<li><strong>Llandudno &amp; Colwyn Tramway Society<\/strong> \u2013 maintenance of tram no.7<\/li>\n<li><strong>N W Deaf Association<\/strong> \u2013 training and meeting rooms<\/li>\n<li><strong>Relate Cymru<\/strong> \u2013 service costs for local clients<\/li>\n<li><strong>Benefit Advice Shop<\/strong> \u2013 outreach office in Rhos on Sea<\/li>\n<li><strong>Colwyn Bay Heritage Group<\/strong> \u2013 Old Colwyn Heritage Walk<\/li>\n<li><strong>Le Sport<\/strong> \u2013 Family Fit 2015 Project<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brain Team CIC<\/strong> \u2013 skill building workshops for carers of people with communication difficulties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After the presentations, the Town Mayor, Cllr Mrs Val Smith, said \u201cWe in the Bay of Colwyn Town Council value the contribution of charitable and voluntary organisations and the people who spend time volunteering for them and we are delighted to be able to honour and support them in this way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Large Event grants have also been awarded by the Town Council to support the following major events in 2015: Colwyn Bay 1940\u2019s Festival, Prom Xtra and Access all Eirias.For information on how your organisation could obtain a grant next year, please visit the Town Council\u2019s website at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colwyn-tc.gov.uk\/\">www.colwyn-tc.gov.uk<\/a><!--:--><!--:CY--><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2209\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colwyn-tc.gov.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/vol_awards_2015.jpg\" alt=\"vol_awards_2015\" width=\"709\" height=\"550\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Bay of Colwyn Town Council awards grants each year to voluntary, not-for-profit and charitable clubs and organisations providing services or facilities in the Bay of Colwyn area.
