The Bay of Colwyn Town Council awards grants each year to Voluntary or Charitable Clubs and Organisations providing services or facilities in the Bay of Colwyn area. Recipients of large grants (of over £500) for the 2013/14 financial year were invited to the Town Hall on Monday 22nd April to receive their cheques from the Town Mayor, Cllr Mrs Viv Perry. Grants totalling £20,600 have been awarded by the Town Council this year, to the following organisations:
Benefit Advice Shop – to give access for clients in Colwyn Bay area
Colwyn Bay Conservation & Environment Federation – to clear sycamore trees and saplings in The Dingle woodland
Contact the Elderly – To support groups in Colwyn Bay, Old Colwyn and Rhos on Sea
Crossroads Care North Wales – to provide support to carers Cruse Bereavement Care – to provide counselling rooms in the Town Hall
Dan’s Den Project – to provide activities and education for young people
Friends of Conwy Gymnastics – to replace/repair equipment
Home Start Conwy – to support families in Colwyn Bay
Kids’ Cancer Charity – to provide a compassionate care break for a family from Colwyn Bay
Llandudno and Colwyn Tramway Society – to maintain/improve tram no.7
North Wales Deaf Association – To provide services to clients
NWAMI – to provide IT equipment for Colwyn Bay Office
St David’s Hospice – to provide a drop-down bed
Large grants have also been awarded by the Town Council to support the following major events in 2013: Colwyn Bay 1940’s Festival, Prom Xtra and Access all Eirias.
