The Bay of Colwyn Town Council is delighted to announce the winners of the Bay of Colwyn Volunteer of the Year Awards for 2015. The nominations were considered by the Volunteer Awards Committee and award recipients were invited to the Town Hall last Monday evening, with the winners of each category being presented with a slate plaque and certificate by the Town Mayor, Cllr Mrs Val Smith.

Winners of the Bay of Colwyn Volunteer Awards 2015 are:

Adult (25-64 yrs): Mrs Tracy Hulse

Group: CAIS Gardening Group

Highly Commended certificates were also presented to Adult Volunteers Elaine Davis and Ian Trethouen.

Although there were no nominations this year for the Adult 65+, Young Person, Trustee or Green categories, the Town Council is aware that there are many local people regularly carrying out invaluable voluntary work in our local community. Please contact the Town Clerk for information about submitting nominations for next year’s awards.

Town Mayor, Cllr Mrs Val Smith, said; “I was privileged to have the opportunity to meet and personally thank these volunteers for their invaluable work in our local community. Please visit the Town Council’s website at www.colwyn-tc.gov.uk or contact the Town Hall on Rhiw Road if you know any local person or voluntary group from the Rhos on Sea, Colwyn Bay or Old Colwyn areas who deserves recognition at next year’s awards.  We know there are many more hard-working volunteers out there who deserve nomination – don’t leave it for someone else to do!”vol_awards_2015
